COURSE DESCRIPTION
8th-grade history focuses on United States history from the early foundations of the nation through Reconstruction after the Civil War. Students explore the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and how the new government took shape. Lessons cover westward expansion, the Industrial Revolution, reform movements, and the causes and consequences of the Civil War. Students analyze primary sources, speeches, political cartoons, and historical maps to understand the experiences of different groups and the decisions that shaped the nation’s development.
