7th Grade English Tutoring

COURSE DESCRIPTION

7th grade English deepens analytical reading, advanced writing, and effective communication skills. Students examine complex literature and informational texts, exploring themes, tone, and the author’s craft. They learn to evaluate arguments, identify bias, and assess the credibility of sources. Writing lessons focus on crafting well-structured argumentative, narrative, and expository pieces with strong thesis statements, coherent paragraphs, and effective conclusions. Grammar instruction includes advanced sentence variety, correct use of clauses, and proper punctuation. Speaking and listening activities build skills in delivering presentations, participating in debates, and collaborating in group discussions.

ASSESSMENTS

Students complete comprehension assessments, vocabulary applications, and writing projects to measure mastery of reading and writing standards. Assessments evaluate students’ ability to interpret texts, organize ideas, and apply advanced grammar. Writing assignments are graded with detailed rubrics, and targeted feedback is provided for continuous improvement.
